Web Headlines That Can Reduce Bounce Rate
Poisted by : WebGuru Under : Google Adwords, Website Design 1 CommentYou are impressed with the way you have researched the keywords, done the bids and written the texts that are running in your AdWords campaign. You are at peace with what you have done so far but when you take a look around the Google Analytics Report, you are about to jump out of your skin. Over 90% bounce rate it shows and you are at a loss where you are going wrong. Everything seems perfect but Analytics cannot be wrong. Now if you are a regular victim of this type of situation, this post is particularly dedicated to you.
It is not that easy to make users stick around your website unless you are offering anything unique and informative. However, if you have none except a long and boring piece of content, you should at least try your level best to make it appear good with an engaging headline that attracts the attention of the users. Here we are offering some tips that can help you see dramatic difference in bounce rate:
Do Not Make It Look Like An Ad: Users are bombarded with thousands of ads everyday and as obvious, you should not incur their wrath by making your headline look almost like any other sales speech. Try something different. Try the garb of a friend rather than a thick-skinned salesperson, abhorred by most of us. For say, you should not write something like this:
Great skin care product for you at an unbelievable rate.
It sounds so disinteresting, right? Try this instead:
Add youthful glow to your skin with these tips.
Be Focused: – Options are a dime a dozen these days and which is why people would not care a fig for your website if your headline is not that impressive. Do not rattle out cold facts as they will make your headline look lifeless. Highlight some nice features instead in the headline section. Ok, if you are still groping in the dark, here is an example:
A Boring and cold headline
Brand New Laptop With 500 GB HD, 4 GB RAM etc
As obviously, this is far from being enough to convert a visitor into a customer. Why not try this:
Do Not Press Shift+Del Anymore
Reassure The Visitors: Online visitors are highly fickle in nature. They bounce back at the slightest sign of something alien. So, to retain these visitors, you need to feature the keywords that you have targeted in Google Adwords. It is reassuring for visitors to locate something similar in nature when they are redirected to the landing page.
Simplicity Matters: How about turning up a fat dictionary every few seconds when reading an article. Frustrating and it can drive you to the brink of insanity. There is no point of using tough words, to be precise incomprehensible, just for the sake for showing off your grip on the language. You may get a clap or two from your friend circle but believe us, you are just committing a marketing suicide.
Keep the headline as simple as possible. However, we are not asking you to blur the difference between a commonplace headline and an interesting one. You need to figure out which one will go for your marketing campaign and then you can go ahead.
And a friendly suggestion from a Good Samaritan. Do not forget to use Google Optimizer to explore which headline is getting ground with the readers and which one is working havoc.
